Robotagami T-shirts

That's right, you can now wear Robotagami and tell everyone about it (shameless promotion). I tried to design a t-shirt that I would wear and hopefully this is it. I am currently taking pre-orders for $15 plus shipping wherever you may be. Orders may be placed via my website @ www.dustinwallace.org

Random News & Thoughts

Several things to discuss as per this entry. First Friday was an interesting venture this month as I was at Identity Ink, a local tattoo shop. The aesthetics and the atmosphere seemed to fit my work pretty well, however the stigma of a tattoo shop kept many people from coming in. There is a trolley that comes by each location for First Friday, and apparently only half the people on the trolley would get off at the tattoo shop. I can't decide if it filtered my audience to only those who were interested in my work, or if it prevented potentially interested viewers from ever seeing my work because of a stigma. The display space at the venue was amazing, relaxed and promoted people to stick around and chat while drinking free wine. Sounds like the people who didn't get off the trolley missed out.

I might also have an opportunity to be a visiting artist at my old alma mater, Texas Tech. I think it would be interesting to revisit my school after struggling in the "real" world for a few years. Maybe I might have some perspective to offer current students.

I am also working on the next large scale project tentatively titled "III". The shell pattern is currently featured on my Facebook Page

A new Robotagami version will be coming soon that will have the shell pattern derived from "III" so wait for that as well.

That's all for the news. Thanks for reading.

First Friday Here Again

That's right, the First Friday Art Trail is happening again this Friday from 6pm to 9pm. I will be showing at Identity Ink on 1413 19th Street. I have been working on a giant 4 ft Robotagami for display outside the venue, so look out for the big robot. For all those who can't make it, I will have pictures next week.
